The Great Wall Concerto

 is a descriptive musical composition written for piano and orchestra about Robert’s impressions at the Great Wall Of China. In 1983 while performing on a cruise ship, his first visit to China was a unique and memorable experience. Seeing the sights and hearing the sounds of this mysterious country, which at that time had just recently opened it’s doors to the outside world, attracted him to the cultural and ethnic ways of this land.

The most fantastic adventure of his travels to China was seeing the Great Wall for the first time. With feeling and enthusiasm, he began gathering musical ideas for a unique piano and orchestral piece that would portray his fascination with this magnificent place. In 1998, he began extensive work on this massive undertaking, and after some unfortunate musical set backs, finished the orchestral score in 2006. Live performances of this work will be presented in concert halls around the world.

Nordstrom Holiday Classics

 is a 1995 Nordstrom, Inc. holiday piano release for the Starlight Foundation International - an organization created in 1983 to help critically ill children. The proceeds from the sale of this album went to help children whose seemingly impossible dreams could become reality. Eleven pianists from different parts of the US came together to record this memorable album. With permission, we have included three selections of Robert’s contribution to this project.
